A Shovel So Loud!
A priest threw a shovel called the magrefa between the Entrance Hall and the altar. It was so loud that no one in Jerusalem could hear a friend talking! Priests and Levites knew by its sound that it was time to come running.

Careful with the Incense
The priest burning the incense was taught to be careful not to get burned. He had to start spreading it on the far side of the altar first. He only began when the appointed priest told him, "Burn the incense!"

Holding the High Priest
When the High Priest entered the Sanctuary, three priests held him steady, one on each hand and one behind him. The Mishna also says that in the Temple, priests raised their hands above their heads for the blessing, higher than anywhere else in the country.
